BoHua News  Another Repairing Operation for Atriar Septal Defect Being Done Successfully   back

November 13, 2005, Bohua Hospital successfully finished the repairing operation on a 5 year-old child for her congenital heart disease, atriar septal defect.


Patient Lou, 5 years old, female, was found have cardiac soufflé in Jilin Children Hospital when she got cold 7months ago. After examination of color ultrasound, she was diagnosed to have congenital heart disease, atriar septal defect. At that time they just carried on the right remedy for the illness. However, as the time flows, the patient got cold more and more frequently, with the symptom of polypnea and expectoration, high fever sometimes. That caused her parents to decide to send her to accept the operation. November 8, the patient came to Bohua Hospital accompanied by her parents. After detailed examination and preparation, the vice president in Bohua Hospital Li Nianfa who enjoys State Council allowance did the operation on the patient for repairing her atriar septal defect in the condition of without stopping heartbeat on November 13. It took just 19 minutes for the external circulation and everything was smooth during the surgery. The patient was sent to ICU after operation. At present, the patient is recovering gradually. The patient left ICU on November 17. Till now , Bohua Hospital have done more then 70 complicated operations for congenital heart disease, cardiac tumor , changing valves and CABG, which also includes Tetralogy of Fallot.
